Chapter 22 Getting a taste of battle

"I need to get those people down here." Rex had a mischievous grin.

Figuring that the people up top thought that this was a young couple. Rex made a plan.

"Father, some people up top have probably thought that we are a young couple. If you play along the first vital part of this game will be done splendidly." Rex whispered.

Hearing that Rex called this a game. The father did not know how to respond. Knowing that most people make the mistake of calling him a woman. Rex's father just had a hunch that Rex already had the end game in mind.

"What will happen?" Rex's father replied whispering.

It will go like this. The two started to talk.

The black cloaked people did not know that Rex had already put a game plan together. They were the first to witness what would happen.

Walking out of the mountain range behind Rex and his father, the black cloaked people just stood there watching the duo practice swinging the wooden sword.

Before they came out of a thicket, one of them suddenly disappeared.

"What was that gust of wind?" The group started to whisper.

Not knowing that one of them in the back disappeared. They turned their attention back to Rex and his father only to notice that one of them had died and been hung up. The cloak was taken off. It was nowhere to be seen.

"Wha?" They stared at the couple who seemed not to even care about the situation.

They focused greatly on the duo now. There was another gust of wind however they quickly noticed the creature was tamed. It was a mutant bat. It would be able to fly day or night but the downside is that it has to use the Qi from its master to continue on because it does not cultivate normally. Knowing that a tamer was close by, the group separated.

Half of the group focused on Rex and his father. The other half went to find the tamer.

Once half of the group was gone. Rex smiled at his father.

Darting to the group, Rex cleanly killed all but one of the people. Grabbing the last one by the throat, Rex took off his cloak and saw that it was a female.

Rex could tell by the Qi around the group that something was wrong with this one person. Releasing his choke hold, the woman began to cough vigorously. Once she had regained her strength. Rex's father sat down on the woman.

"Care to explain why a woman with a weak constitution is with this group?" Rex asked.

Knowing that this guy could already see that she was weak. She had no choice but to explain her situation.

"My body has always been weak. This group is trying to help people with weak constitutions by getting the wyvern's blood. It will not kill it but get just enough that we can get stronger."

Knowing what would actually happen, Rex did not want to fully explain everything but left her with a choice.

"I will get you a better way to regain your constitution or he will kill you. That is your choice to decide quickly before he kills you." Rex did not care either way.

Facing a life and death situation, the woman obviously wanted to live but she wanted the reason why he would not support her.

"I choose to live but how can you be sure that you can restore my constitution without Wyvern Blood. That is the only thing powerful enough to restore it here. He just advanced so the timing could not be any worse." The woman explained.

Rex looked at the woman and knew she was right. Knowing that she could advance with him while he advanced was the biggest advantage he had.

It was not something normal cultivators do because one could not trust anyone but themselves while climbing. This was the Mortal Realm, cultivators form massive groups to help each other until they reach the stage they can or want to. Mostly because no one ever figured that the Heavenly Realm was true. It was just folklore that people tell children in bedtime stories. Even though the goddesses were in the Godly Realm. Most people thought they were in the Heavenly Realm.

This is why the three largest cultivation sects were led by Maximum, Demon, and Life giver. Most cultivators would at least be able to form a group that made it to the Sixth Realm. Maximum and Demon would find the groups that made it to the Eighth Realm and make sure the people were not Devil Cultivators. That was the only thing that most people truly hated.

Rex looking at the woman decided to fully tell her the truth.

"When I begin my advancement, you too will be able to advance with me. That will overload your weak constitution and restore it slowly overtime while in the Second Realm. If you decide to travel more with me, your constitution will get stronger and you will achieve better results than just staying in the Second Realm."

Hearing that the woman felt a relief that she had not felt before. She had heard explanations before they were not detailed like Rex explained.

"Thank you."

Rex and his father made a small change to the plan. They were going to hide the woman so no one would be able to find her.

"We need to find the others and just get her there." Rex said.

Rex's father sighed. He wanted more time with his son but knowing that someone was in trouble. He would rather be helpful like that than to be a burden.

"Batty."

The mutant bat came over. It clung into Rex's arm before Rex called it back to its area. Now Rex has started his Tamer Cultivation. The egg hatched while explaining the plan to his dad.

Once that happened, Rex had a better chance to get the plan to happen. Without having to hurt himself or his dad, Rex had completed the first part of his plan.

The end game was still on the right path. Now that there was this woman that Rex decided to help. He was not going to take a chance of anything happening to her.

"Father, I am glad you are so good." Rex hugged his father.

With Batty getting some action in this, Rex felt better that the chance to crush the people who are attempting to hurt the wyvern. He now wanted nothing more than to summon the Dragon Slayer Axe and slaughter the three camps.

The chances that he would be discovered did not scare Rex. He knew his strength was greater than everyone on this Realm.

The problem would be the village. He hopes that the woman will be kept hidden. He knew that it was possible if someone had already seen her.

"If anyone acts familiar with her, make sure to kill them unless it is a family member." Rex whispered to his dad.

Rex's father did not understand why Rex was trying to be super cautious but he trusted his son. He would ask the girls why Rex was being overly cautious about this woman.
